Certification Training

The Board of Pesticides Control and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension have previously hosted fall credit programs.  Due to Covid-19, this year we are hosting live virtual programs for applicators to earn recertification credits.  There is no cost for these programs, and each is worth two recertification credits.  Pre-registration is required.  The details are as follows:

Turfgrass Insect Pest Management

Location: Online Recertification Class, Via Zoom Platform: Join Dr. Benjamin McGraw, Associate Professor of Turfgrass Science at Pennsylvania State University, for a presentation over cultural, mechanical, and biological control strategies of insect turf pests. Basic turf management to reduce inputs and chemical control will be covered. Approved for 2 pesticide credits.

Browntail Moth     

Location: Online Recertification Class, Via Zoom Platform: Speakers: Angela Mech, Assistant Professor of Forest Entomology, University of Maine School of Biology and Ecology; Thomas Schmeelk, Entomologist, Maine Forest Service; Board of Pesticides Control staff with the BPC Update. Approved for 2 pesticide credits.

Vegetation Management      

Location: Online Recertification Class, Via Zoom Platform: Speakers: Robert Moosmann, Statewide Vegetation Manager, Maine Department of Transportation; Nancy Olmstead, Invasive Plant Biologist, Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry; Board of Pesticides Control staff with the BPC Update. Pre-registration is required. Approved for 2 pesticide credits.
