How to Sign up for Maine’s Open Farm Day

This annual event happens the fourth Sunday in July. The date this year is July 23, 2023 There is no fee to join promotions, but you must sign up via the Real Maine website using a Real Maine member account.

Below you will find instructions for updating your existing account or becoming creating an account and becoming a Real Maine member (you can also read the instructions online).

The sign up steps are different for farms that already have a Real Maine account and farms who are not yet Real Maine members.

After you sign up: use the event resources to guide your planning. You are welcome to read about promotions and see the growing list of farms 

Farms with a Real Maine account – How to Sign up for Open Farm Day 2023 and update your member profile

  1. After login: Click “profile update” link
  2. Click edit my profile button
  3. A menu screen appears
  4. Select Farm and Business Features
  5. Scroll to EVENTS (use the image at the right for example) 
  6. A blue box with a white check mark means you opt in to the event
  7. Review the other menu areas (e.g., General Information, Online Listing
    Social Media). Refresh (add, remove, edit) information if needed.
  8. Save and submit! **

**Red asterisks displaying on screen denote missing or incomplete information, and will prevent you from saving and submitting until corrected.

Farms without a Real Maine account – How to Sign up for Open Farm Day 2023 and become a Real Maine Member

  1. Avoid a duplication – Double check to see if you’re already listed on RealMaine.com
  2. Use this form to join Real Maine and sign up for Open Farm Day
  3. Add all the required information
  4. Click the submit button
  5. You will receive a membership confirmation and approval (typically within one to three business days)
  6. After your membership approval you may log into the Member Portal to make additional updates, submit a calendar event, etc.**

About Open Farm Day Promotions | View List of Farms

  • If you want to be included in Real Maine’s Open Farm Day promotions, you must opt in by May 1, 2023.
  • View the curent list of 2023 host farms Reminder: it takes at least 24 hours for updates to appear on the Real Maine website. Contact us for help 
  • Real Maine offers statewide promotions (print, radio, web and news stories) to encourage visitors to meet participating farms on Open Farm Day.
  • Real Maine’s summer print publication includes Open Farm Day host farms and the business name, town and contact info View recent publications for reference
  • You can submit a customized description and event hours to appear on the online event calendar Most farms are open 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, but they have the option to customize their schedule.
  • Use the “Submit an Event” feature in the member portal Tip: submit any event requests at least 3-4 weeks – if not sooner – before an event date.
