Free Produce Farm Food Safety Workshops in Presque Isle
When: May 14, 2025, 9 AM to 3 PM
Location: Maine Potato Board conference room, 744 Main Street #1 – parking lot is off Rice St.
Available Workshops:
The first two workshops were offered at the Maine Agricultural Trades Show in Augusta in January and the resources are available in the Library of Resources under DACF Presentations. Food Safety Modernization Act – FSMA – Maine DACF. The last is currently being developed.
- 9 – 11 AM: How-to write a food safety plan for a USDA AMS regular GAP audit parts 1-4. Get audit tips, peruse plan & record templates.
- 11 AM – 1 PM: How-to conduct an agricultural water system inspection & assessment for the FSMA Produce Safety Rule. Get record templates & inspection cheat sheet. This workshop may also help with GAP and is a best practice for farms not subject to the regulation. *Please bring your own lunch or plan to grab something nearby.
- 1 – 2 PM: Farm Food Safety How-To Focusing on Risk Assessment and Cleaning & Sanitizing
