Deadline Extended – Farmstands, U-Pick, Choose & Cut, Direct Sales and Other Agritourism Farms Take the National Agritourism Survey!
Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry sent this bulletin at 05/16/2024 05:30 PM EDT
Farms that offer direct sales (including retail, choose and cut, pick your own), entertainment, recreation, special events, on-farm educational activities, etc.
The individual responsible for agritourism decision-making should complete the survey. It takes approximately 15 minutes.
You only need to submit one response. If you have already added your input, thank you!
What ways do people use the survey information? Why is farmer insight valuable? Here are some reasons:
Business advisors, coaches and Extension partners seek farmer input to get firsthand insight from the businesses.
Farmer input can offer real-world feedback about agritourism needs, successes, and ideas for improvement at local and regional levels.
Farmer feedback can be used to design business training. For a Maine-based, local example: Thanks to farmer input, MDACF helped launch two agritourism courses and the Agritourism Summit in the past year.
Farmer input is important to identify research and development priorities, which farmers can use as they update business and risk management plans.
