Real Maine is updating the webpage listing of members who want to be on the Real Maine Fiber Trail.If you want to join the trail, and/or if you plan to open your farm, studio, processing business (or other location) to visitors this fall, please be sure to add your information to this updated sign-up form. Below are other helpful details to know. Sign-up FormParticipant Details:Please complete the form by Sept. 20, 2026 to be included in all the promotional opportunities. Hosts can decide which days, starting in October, work best for their goals. Use the options in the form to add details. New this year: You can add November dates.This is a choose-your-own-adventure for hosts and visitors alike. It can be a customer appreciation event, behind-the-scenes tours and demos, sales and promotions — or all of the above. We encourage hosts to use this as a way to offer people a behind-the-scenes look at local fiber products and the process. This can be a great way to share your story, feature and sell products, and connect with future customers, too!If you’re unsure how to prepare for visitors, consider viewing some of MDACF’s agritourism resources. This includes pre-made agritourism signs.If you have questions, please email dacfrealmaine@maine.govPromotional Activity to Highlight Fiber BusinessesParticipation RequirementsParticipants must be a Real Maine member to join the list, and participate in the promotions. They can be farms that specialize in raising animals for fiber production, businesses that process and/or sell Maine-grown fiber products, or a combination.Trail ListingThe Real Maine Fiber Trail is a statewide list on realmaine.com that visitors can view to explore sites that are open to the public for various reasons (i.e., tours, workshops, purchasing products, etc.). The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry promotes this listing to help people locate sites across Maine’s visitor regions.Fall PromotionsTrail sites have the option to join a fall tour promotional event. Trail members open their business for behind the scenes tours, maker Q and A’s, workshops, open houses, etc. It can be a tool to enhance a site’s business promotions and support agricultural awareness, and as agritourism collaborations with other nearby farm businesses. The promotion kicks off each October, to coincide with the start of fall foliage season, and other agritourism and maker events that attract visitors. The form includes space to update your membership address, or add a different address. For example, for a separate event, location, etc. where hosts are promoting and offering industry perspectives to the public.Sites who choose to join the fall promotion are featured in Real Maine’s social media promotions, and event descriptions. The information is also shared with MDACF’s partner programs and DECD’s promotional programs.Sites should review their event details and participation annually.
